Family to Family

NAMI Family to Family is a class for families, partners and friends of individuals with mental illness. The course is designed to facilitate a better understanding of mental illness, increase coping skills and empower participants to become advocates for their family members. This program was designated as an evidence-based program by SAMHSA.

Provider Education

NAMI Provider Education is a class for line staff at facilities providing mental health treatment services. The NAMI Provider Education class is designed to expand the participants’ compassion for the individuals and their families and to promote a collaborative model of care.

Peer to Peer

Peer to Peer is an eight week class for adults living with mental health challenges. The class focuses on recovery that offers respect, understanding, and hope.

Family and Friends

NAMI Family & Friends is a 4-hour seminar that informs and supports people who have loved ones with a mental health condition. Participants learn about diagnoses, treatment, recovery, communication strategies, crisis preparation and NAMI resources. Seminar leaders have personal experience with mental health conditions in their families.

NAMI Basics

NAMI Basics is a 6-session education program for parents, caregivers, and other family who provide care for school age youth (ages 22 and younger) who are experiencing behavioral issues or mental health symptoms.

Crisis Intervention Training

Crisis Intervention Training is a course for first responders to provide them with information on how to deal with individuals in a mental health crisis. There are 2 introductory courses (2 and 4 hours) and a 40 hour in depth training (certification includes 38 accredited hours certified by the South Carolina Justice Academy).
