Who We Are

NAMI Spartanburg is a non-profit, grassroots organization dedicated to improving treatment and the lives of those who live with a mental illness. We provide free education, support, and advocacy to the +87,000 Spartanburg, Cherokee, and Union County residents with diagnosable mental illness and their families in order to help them build better lives. We are an affiliate of NAMI South Carolina and NAMI National.

Our Mission

Our mission is to improve the quality of life for individuals who live with mental illness and their families by promoting effective services and resources through education, support, and advocacy.

What We Do

NAMI Spartanburg programs fall into two general categories: support or education with each program being intended for a different population. All programs are led by individuals who have been trained by NAMI; they are not professionals, but are individuals who have dealt with mental illnesses, either themselves or with loved ones.
