NAMI Resources

Compartiendo Esperanza and Sharing Hope are two initiatives launched by the National Alliance on Mental Illness designed to destigmatize mental wellness and create pathways to healing in the Black/African American and Hispanic communities rooted in collective community wisdom and empowerment.

Our goal is to empower our brothers and sisters to speak openly about health and wellness; and identify ways to
create healing and wholeness. We do this by sharing firsthand experiences, identifying the signs and symptoms of
mental health challenges, destigmatizing the conversation, and sharing healthy tools such as how to find the right
therapist or creating a ‘support squad’.

NAMI Also has Support Groups for Black/African American and Hispanic Families. To find out more about the support groups, go to our support group tab or click here.
